1.Permit to Operate Shark Diving Vessel
Issued by DEAT . Permit ot be onboard and Valid for the area of operation .
2.Permit Conditions
A copy of the DEAT prescribed permit conditions and instructions on how shark cage diving operations should be carried out on board ( This will replace the old MOU)
3.The letter"S"
The Letter S must be dispayed next to the SAMSA number in brackets ,I.E. DTC 1234 D (S)
4.Toilets
This is a requirement for all Shark Diving Vessels
5.Dive Master
If SCUBA is used there must be a suitably qualified "Dive Master"aboard . In all cases the skipper must have a 'Dive Endorsement" on his certificate.
6.Tour Guide
Either a qualified "SATOUR" guide or a SITE Guide to be aboard
7.Public Liability Insurance
Proof of Cover to be presented 
8.Cages
Cages are to be designed and certified sound for the intended purpose by a registered engineer.Cages are to be constructed of alumimium , stainless steel or galvinised mild steel with no sharp edges .If cages are attached to the vessel with rope the diameter must be the same as the anchor rope.An access door must be provided at the top of the cage . Only one cage is allowed onboard . Safe access to the cage must be in place and demonstrat-able.
9.Emergency Flow Chart
A properly compiled flow chart must be onboard which must provide relevent information and make provision for all possible emergencies onboard .
10.First Aid
At least one member of the crew must be qualified at a minimum of Level 3 in First Aid and have extended training for trauma and oxygen management .Oxygen cylinder with mask and shark trauma kit must be onboard.
11.Size of Vessel
Note that Shark Cage diving vessels larger than 12m are not allowed to operate from Kleinbaai.
