The Cage

An essential requirement....We have a securely structured 6 man galvanized steel cage designed by Registered Engineers and made by qualified coded welders .The Cage meets the requirement of the WS Safety Code of Conduct , and has no sharp edges to ensure both sharks and divers are not harmed .The Surface cage is operated by winch from a gantry aboard the vessel . The cage is retrieved from the water when the vessel is underway.

The Cage has been designed with the safety of the animal and the divers in mind .
The cage will float on the surface with a freeboard of 300mm which allows divers to breathe on the surface whilst in the confines of the cage, and to easily make use of a mask and snorkel .Divers can easily communicate with the Dive Master and crew and fellow passengers aboard the boat.

Dimensions are 2.3m high (2.m in the water and .3 above), 3.2m long and 1.0m wide.
Divers are fully suited in a 5mm wetsuit and enter the top of the cage from the side of the boat .
As divers are just under the surface of the water , travel by aircraft is not affected .
